Committees

The following committees will be formed as needed to assist the board. The board will appoint the heads of these committees after asking for volunteers. PWRC members will provide support by volunteering to serve on these committees either as committee heads or as committee members.

Novice Summer Rowing Camp Planning Committee

  • Plan and provide administrative support for the novice summer rowing camp.
  • Prepare and distribute information packets to the high school boosters' club boards and appropriate middle schools in coordination with the Communications Director
  • Work with the secretary to prepare and distribute announcements, press releases and required sign-up forms
  • Ensure the participants submit all paperwork and fees

Adult Rowing Program Planning Committee

  • Plan and provide administrative support for the adult rowing program.
  • Prepare and distribute information packets to the high school boosters' club boards in coordination with the Communications Director
  • Work with the secretary to prepare an distribute announcements, press releases and required sign-up forms
  • Assist the secretary to ensure all participants submit all paperwork and fees

Uniforms and Clothing Committee

  • Coordinate the design, color(s) and purchase of crew uniforms, and other clothing items and products as determined by the Board of Directors, and general club membership.
  • Work with the novice and adult program planning committees in the design and ordering of the participants T-shirts

Boathouse Maintenance Committee

  • Assist the PWCA on scheduled work days
  • Solicit volunteers from the club for scheduled work days
  • Recommend improvements or required maintenance to the board and PWCA

Elections/Nominations Committee

  • Coordinate all election activities
  • Provide and collect absentee ballots to members who cannot attend the election meeting

Ways and Means Committee

  • Assist the treasurer in developing annual budget planning
  • Coordinate fund raisers as needed

Equipment Maintenance Committee

  • Conduct routine inspections of all Club and leased equipment to ensure all rowing equipment meets safety regulations and guidelines
  • Conduct routine maintenance to support practices and regattas
  • Maintain equipment inventory and current value
  • Provide current equipment inventory and value at end of calendar year for insurance renewal
  • Maintain adequate supply of spare parts to support practices and regattas as required
  • Recommend to the board acquisition of equipment
